FAQ's ABOUT TOWELS & BATHMATS
Choosing the right towel for my establishment Choosing bath towels is partly an art and partly a science; your bath towel should be soft, durable, absorbent, and eco-friendly. The trick to finding a towel that meets all these important criteria is identifying what’s in it and how it’s made. Choosing the right towel also means thinking about how many towels your guests needs and how they will likely use the towels. Towel thickness is measured in grams per square meter (GSM). A thin towel is about 300-400 GSM, and might be acceptable for the gym or kitchen, but not for the bath. A low-weight bath towel is between 400-600 GSM, heavier and more absorbent bath towels are 600-710 GSM. 100% Cotton Terrycloth towels are the most absorbent variety. They are manufactured with extra yarn and larger thread loops to maximize absorbency. There larger thread loops and extra yarn makes them especially durable. Should I wash my towels when I get them? Absolutely yes. You have to wash a towel once to make it absorbent. The first wash will also remove all the lint and excess finish, we also Highly recommend that you avoid using fabric softener on the first wash. Are there any tips when it comes to washing towels? Avoid using softener on the first wash and for all subsequent washes use less washing powder than you would for clothes. The surface of the towels creates more lather than clothes or sheets and if they lather too much you may get detergent residue on the towels after the wash. Tumble dry on a low heat once washed.
